Eastgate, Glasgow
Devar are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the supply and installation contract for the raised access flooring works to the new Eastgate project on London Road. This project is being constructed by Dawn Construction who are working for the client, Clyde Gateway Developments Ltd.
This marks our first raised access flooring partnership directly with Dawn Group. We have previously worked with them in partnership with City Building (Glasgow) LLP.
The completed project will provide 4 floors of our fully galvanized steel encapsulated wood core system utilising both our gravity lay and corner lock panels.
This 65,000 ft2 3 storey open plan office development has been pre-let to Glasgow City Council as an operational centre for CCTV control.
Eastgate will be ready for occupation in Spring 2012 as the new home to the 500 employees of Glasgow Community and Safety Services. This is a partnership organisation bringing together the police, fire services and Glasgow City Council to prevent crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and promote community safety across the whole of the city.
The project will provide a BREEAM Excellent B rated building and incorporates within it a large number of sustainable features including solar control, natural ventilation, lighting control, energy efficient plant, control systems and IT infrastructure to support CCTV.
The Architects for the project are Cooper Cromar, Glasgow Office and the Quantity Surveyors are Turner & Townsend.
Eastgate is Glasgow's second largest new-build office development and is located just 300 yards east of Bridgeton Cross.
The £9.7 million cost of Eastgate is being provided by Aviva Investors, the UK's largest real estate manager.
